Next week, April 10th-16th, is the 50th Anniversary of the Week of the Young Child, a week-long celebration of early learning, young children, their teachers, families and communities.
This past week the San Mateo County Board of Education and the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors passed Proclamations designating April 10-16 the Week of the Young Child here in San Mateo County.
Supervisors Dave Pine and Carol Groome sponsored the Board of Supervisors Proclamation and Sarah Kinehan, Coordinator of the Child Care Partnership Council gave a presentation highlighting the importance of early learning and development between the ages of birth and 5. All three praised the excellent and important work of early childhood care and learning providers in San Mateo County. So, congratulations to… you!
The NAEYC website is filled with activities, organized by theme, that you can enjoy with the kiddos in your classroom next week.
