The Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) is offering a fully virtual PITC Trainer Institute in 2024-25, jointly conducted by the California Department of Social Services, Child Care and Development Division, and WestEd.
The PITC Trainer Institute is an opportunity to learn PITC content and training skills for educators, program managers, and other professionals responsible for supervising and training infant/toddler care providers, teachers, and home visitors. The Institutes deliver a comprehensive study of the PITC philosophy and recommended practices that support high-quality infant and toddler care, in tandem with responsive and effective training/coaching strategies.
This virtual PITC Trainer Institute includes synchronous launch and wrap-up events, as well as interactive online sessions with dynamic faculty, and 24 weeks of online learning in cohorts. While the training is conducted in English, bilingual facilitators review certification submissions written in Spanish.
