Programs and practices that support the health and well-being of early childhood care & learning providers contribute to the vitally important work they do every day.   When educators and care providers are physically and emotionally healthy, they have more patience and to meet the needs of the little ones in their care with compassion and understanding.

This printable infographic developed by the Office of Head Start describes eight dimensions of well-being which include…

  • Occupational
  • Emotional
  • Spiritual
  • Intellectual
  • Physical
  • Environmental
  • Financial
  • Social

The resource also provides strategies for directors and educators to nurture these dimensions in a variety of early care and education settings. Program leaders can use this information to consider the supports their program currently uses to nurture the well-being of their staff,  and to identify opportunities to provide stronger support.
