Did you know that more than 60% of licensed spaces for infants and toddlers in San Mateo County are in Family Child Care (FCC) homes? They make up an important and large part of the community that families appreciate and depend on. For those who own and work in these centers, a key aspect of management is considering residential neighbors who are living in the nearby community.
Kristen Anderson, Child Care Coordinator for the City of Redwood City, created a helpful handout on “Being a Good Neighbor” with quick tips and reminders about how to ensure that family day care homes are compatible with neighborhoods. The handout includes information about parking, traffic, noise, and notes several resources that might be of interest to FCC providers. Click here to view and download the document.
