Now that the summer heat has died down, the weather is perfect for a walk around the San Francisco Bay. The Bay Trail, which stretches from Brisbane to Mountain View, offers a variety of different hikes and beautiful water-front scenery. And this year, the Bay Trail is celebrating its 30th birthday.

Byxbee Park Up and Around Baylands Nature Preserve

This Palo Alto hike is great for aviation enthusiasts and bird watchers. An added bonus, the 4-mile loop can easily be extended for a more ambitious hike, if you are interested in getting in some extra mileage.
Sierra Point to Oyster Point
8 miles (Out & back)
The area around Oyster Point was previously home to a thriving oyster fishery that operated until the early 20th century. This Brisbane trail is a pleasant out-and-back loop, with historic scenery to enjoy along the way.
Fisherman’s Park to Coyote Point
4 miles
Starting in Burlingame and ending in San Mateo, this trail will take you past Magic Mountain playground, the CuriOdyssey Museum, and Poplar Creek Golf Course. This year, fitness stations were installed at Coyote Point to enjoy during walking breaks.
Bayside Joinville Park up and around Seal Point Park

Seal Point Park is a former landfill that is now home to a collection of public art. This area is also great for bird-watching. Seal Point also includes a three-acre off-leash dog park to enjoy with your furry friends.
