Sesame Street in Communities (SSIC) offers a variety of free, professional development opportunities for parents and child care providers. This resource for professionals offers tips and tools for strengthening your work with young children and their families.

Courses and Interactive Trainings

  • Sesame Strong: designed to support your family engagement efforts — includes eight bundles full of resources you can use to connect with, celebrate, and support parents and caregivers

  • Building a Reader: course for early childhood educators to increase capacity building and knowledge around early literacy and family engagement — includes ways to engage young children to explore key literacy goals; learn how to engage children ages 2–5 in their journey to become proficient readers and writers.

  • Caring for Mixed Age Groups: An overview of simple strategies to help you get kids of all ages involved in routines, solving problems together, and learning from each other as they play.
