Applications Open Now for the 2024-25 PITC Virtual Trainer Institute

Sep 09, 2024    |   California ECE News Updates

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Child Care and Development Division, recently announced that the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) will offer a fully virtual Trainer Institute in 2024-25. The PITC Trainer Institute provides a supportive community of practice approach to learning PITC content and training skills.

The Institute, which is jointly conducted by the CDSS and WestEd, will deliver a comprehensive study of the PITC philosophy and recommended practices to support high-quality infant and toddler care, as well as responsive and effective training/coaching strategies.

This virtual PITC Trainer Institute encompasses synchronous launch and wrap-up events featuring interactive online sessions with dynamic faculty and 24 weeks of online learning in cohorts with facilitators.  Certification is embedded in the learning process in a supportive cohort community.

While the training is conducted in English, bilingual facilitators review certification submissions written in Spanish.
