Are You Ready to Vote? Here’s How to Find Out

Registering to Vote

Monday, October 21 is the Deadline to Register to Vote in California!

  • Click here to make sure you are registered to vote, and that your registration is current. You might need to update your address, or you might want to change your party affiliation. 
  • Will you be voting for the first time?  Here’s where you can find information about new voter registration.

Vote by Mail Information

  • Every registered California voter should receive a ballot in the mail. The ballots were mailed on October 7th.  
  • Visit the California Secretary of State website vote-by-mail page if you haven’t received a ballot, need a replacement ballot, or have questions about voting by mail.

In-person Voting

  • October 26 is the first day vote centers open for in-person voting. 
  • Each County in California posts a list of voting center locations, along with dates and times of operation. 
  • The website of the California Secretary of State has a list of county election officials and websites.

Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day! 

  • Polls are open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.  
  • It’s also the last day to vote by mail.

What’s on the Ballot?

  • California registered voters receive an Official Voter Information Guide in the mail with information about statewide candidates and issues. The guide is also available online.
  • United States presidential candidate statements can be found online at voterguide.sos.ca.gov.
  • The Calmatters 2024 Voting Guide includes information about national and state candidates and issues on the ballot in California.
