The San Mateo County Office of Education is partnering with The Acceleration Project (TAP), a nonprofit that provides pro-bono customized consulting services for small businesses that are at a critical inflection point. TAP is offering a pilot program, in which it will provide business consulting to five child care centers in San Mateo County. The pilot will begin this summer and run for 8-10 weeks. Interested? Criteria for Child Care Center Providers
Centers must…
- have been in business with an active child care license and generating revenue for at least 3 years
- Have no pending litigation or probation status with licensing
- Be funded primarily through family tuition and 4Cs vouchers, not state/federal contracts
- Be located in a Child Care Partnership County Priority 1 zip code – pilot will include 5 businesses spread throughout the county
Business owners must…
- Have the time and commitment to engage with the consultants
- Show potential and open to change and improvement
- Commit to conducting Zoom/in-person meetings in a quiet space on a computer/laptop (not a cell phone)
