SMC Professional Development Opportunity: LETRS Early Literacy Instruction

A teacher reads a picture book to a group of young children during circle time in an early learning classroom.

The San Mateo County Office of Education is excited to partner with Lexia LETRS for Early Childhood Educators (ECE) to offer a high-quality professional learning opportunity designed to deepen preschool and transitional kindergarten teachers’ knowledge of literacy instruction for young learners.

The more children know about language and literacy before entering kindergarten and first grade, the better equipped they are for long-term success. This cohort experience offers a blend of self-paced online learning, two in-person training days, and three virtual PLCs.
