Free ECE Course on Partnering with Families from Sesame Workshop

Early learning professionals have the unique opportunity to shape children’s worlds and boost their potential. By partnering with families, we can provide support that will help children to be prepared for kindergarten. 

This free course from Sesame Workshop, helps early learning professionals build partnerships with parents and families. The course includes five units, each of which focuses on different ways to integrate families into children’s learning and development. 

Course Units

  1. Approaches to Learning (Unit 1: The Way We Learn)
  2. Social and Emotional Development (Unit 2: Feeling Safe, Taking Risks)
  3. Language and Literacy (Unit 3: Care and Communication)
  4. Motor Development (Unit 4: Growing Bodies, Growing Minds)
  5. Cognition (Unit 5: Experimenting with Experiences)

The information in the lessons, along with the activities and videos, highlight best practices for parents and child care providers to partner together with a shared focus on the children.  

Getting Started

The course is free-of-charge, and is available to work through at your convenience. To get started, you will need to sign up for a Sesame Workshop account, which is also free.
