Those of us who work with young children know that we learn from children just as much as they learn from us!
This short video from BBC features Roots of Empathy, a program that gives elementary-aged students an opportunity to connect with babies and learn about kindness. The video focuses on a classroom of children engaging with a baby girl who is too young to talk but who communicates just the same, with gestures, sounds, and facial expressions. As the children spend time with her, they learn to recognize the infant’s feelings while at the same time becoming more in tune with their own emotional processes.
