Local Wildflower Walks, from Peninsula Open Space Trust

Mar 17, 2022    |   San Mateo County

Spring is one of the best times of year to explore the open spaces of the Peninsula and South Bay. The landscape is alive with colorful wildflowers, making it an ideal time to try out new trails and see new places.

To help you find the best trails to see wildflowers, Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) has put together a free guide to the best wildflower displays on the Peninsula and South Bay. Some of their recommendations include…

  • Serpentine Loop in Edgewood Park,

  • Arastradero Creek Loop,

  • Bald Hills Loop at Calero County Park,

  • Arrowhead Loop at Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve,

  • Purisima Creek Loop,

  • River Trail at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park,

  • And more!

Click here to access the free guide, which includes information about visiting each trail and which flowers you can expect to find.

As an additional note, if you decide to try out the Serpentine Loop in Edgewood Park, The Bill and Jean Lane Education Center recently reopened. The Education Center is a place for children, nature seekers and park visitors to learn about the habitats in the park.
