Talk the Tot: The Importance of Infant & Toddler Years

The adults who care for very young children are catalysts for brain development and critical learning skills. Unfortunately, knowledge about the importance of the infant/toddler years is not widely understood, leaving new parents to struggle without the support they need to get children off to a strong start in life.

Talk the Tot, a new initiative from Children Now, seeks to change that.

Launched last week, Talk the Tot is in its campaign’s first phase: education of the public about the importance of the first few years of life via social media. In the coming weeks, Talk the Tot will be asking young parents and people, like you, who support young parents to share your firsthand personal experiences with infant/toddler learning. Finally, Talk the Tot will be telling lawmakers in California about systems changes they can make to improve the lives and prospects of babies and children.
